JetMan Makes it Across Grand Canyon

Written by Pat's Papers | Wednesday, 11 May 2011 6:44 AM

Here’s a philosophical riddle: If JetMan flies over the Grand Canyon and no journalists are there to witness it, does it actually happen? The Las Vegas Review-Journal says Swiss adventurer Yves Rossy finally made his way across the five-mile canyon via jet pack last Saturday after canceling his scheduled flight on Friday. Only problem? No one was there to see him do it. The Review-Journal says the only proof of Rossy’s feat is video captured by helicopters.

Rossy sent media from around the world home on Friday after determining that it was too risky. Then, on what was supposed to be a practice run, he completed his eight-minute flight. The Daily Mail says Rossy’s custom-built jet suit weighs about 120 pounds and has a 79-inch wingspan.
