Jeter’s Girlfriend Has “Ruff” Flight

Written by Pat's Papers | Wednesday, 8 September 2010 8:45 AM

It’s hard to believe, but it turns out some things are bigger in coach. The New York Post says actress Minka Kelly—girlfriend of Yankee Derek Jeter—was told she’d have to move from her first-class seat to coach if she wanted to fly with her pet dog. Dog carriers, apparently don’t fit under first-class seats but they fit under those in coach. Kelly switched seats with an economy passenger for take-off and landing. (Interesting that she didn’t just let the seat swap passenger stay in first class for the whole flight. Instead, she moved back up front for the middle part of the trip.) The Post characterizes the experience as “ruff.”

Kelly’s lawyer was in full spin mode after a tipster on the same flight told Gawker that the actress threw a hissy fit over the dog debacle. According to the witness, the pilot and seven stewardesses tried to calm an irate Kelly down before the plane could take off.
