James Cameron To Help Fix BP’s Titanic Problem
Written by Pat's Papers | Wednesday, 2 June 2010 6:10 AM

James Cameron just landed a role in the country’s most engrossing drama: the race to plug the BP oil spill. The Obama Administration asked Cameron to join a task force of scientists assembled to think of ways to stop oil from spewing into the Gulf of Mexico because of his expertise with underwater filming and “remote-vehicle technologies” says the New York Post. Also invited to the table is Phil Nuytten, the man who built underwater structures for the director’s 1989 hit, “The Abyss.” According to the Post, Kevin Costner is also contributing to the clean up effort with an oil-separating machine he was inspired to build after starring in “Waterworld.”
