Iowans Know Their Hogs

Fourteen-year-old Kiana Peters is California’s number one hog shower, a profession that involves walking an enormous pig in front of a panel of judges. So when she showed up in Iowa to compete at the World Pork Expo, she thought a blue ribbon was in the bag. Not so. “This is a different kind of league,” Peters told the Des Moines Register. Apparently, Iowa’s hog showers are some of the most skilled in the world. Who knew.
