Imagining a Post-Bundle World

Readers are asked to image a “post bundle world” on the front of the Wall Street Journal business section. Basically the question is, will viewers be better off if cable companies sell more channels “a la carte.” Industry experts say without the bundle requirement, companies would be free to offer smaller, lower-priced packages that cater to very specific types of people. Programmers argue the larger customer base delivered by the bundles helps them to pay for top-quality content.
