Hotels Nickel and Dime Customers on Bill

If you thought airlines were guilty of nickle and diming customers, wait until you get your next hotel bill. The LA Times says hotels across the country are adding hidden fees for things like restocking the minibar and holding your bags after checkout. Industry insiders says it’s a bid to deal with “slumping revenue and weak demand.” Hotels made about $1 billion in 2003 on additional charges. In 2009, extra charges brought in $1.55 billion.
