Hospice Not Just for Humans

As more Americans come to regard their pets as members of the family, many are turning to veterinary hospice as a way to help them deal with the difficult task of saying good-bye. The St. Petersburg Times says in many ways, animal hospice is similar to the human model and is transforming the way vets and pet owners deal with an animal’s death.

Angel’s Gate is one of the first and largest animal hospices in the country. Owner Sue Marino and a small staff spend their days taking care of hundreds of dying animals.
