Health Care Fix: Surgery on Saturday

Overcrowded hospitals? The Boston Globe says a simple fix is often overlooked. Rather than building more hospitals, we should be running the hospitals we have at full speed seven days a week. Typically, operations are cut to a minimum on Saturdays and Sundays. A Globe editorial say:s “Letting these costly facilities sit largely idle two-sevenths of the time is a waste of a resource.”
