Gummi Bear Marketer Dies

Hans Riegel, the man who brought Gummi Bears to the masses, has died at 90. The New York Times says Riegel transformed his father’s small candy company into an international brand with 6,000 employees and more than $2 billion in annual sales. Haribo now makes more than 200 products, but none has proved to be as popular as the original Gummi Bear.
