Group Calls for Ronald McDonald’s Resignation

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak isn’t the only one feeling pressure to leave office. A group of activists is gathering in New Hampshire tomorrow to call for Ronald McDonald to step down as McDonalds’ spokesman. The Portsmouth Herald says the protest comes on the heels of a Yale study that found kids are exposed to more “junk-food marketing” than ever before. The group claims McDonalds upped its TV advertising to kids by more than 20 percent between 2007 and 2009. A spokesperson (not Ronald) for the fast food chain says the red-haired icon has no plans on leaving his tenured post.
