Gravel Roads Make a Comeback

Gravel roads are coming back. USA Today says they were once “a symbol of quaint times,” but as communities assess the cost of maintaining paved roads they’re seeing new appeal in gravel travel. The report includes an example from Montcalm County, Michigan, where a road that needed $40,000 in repairs was crushed into gravel for just $7,000.
