Google Gets New Logo

It will take some eagle eyes to spot it but the San Jose Mercury News says Google has changed its logo. Slightly. The new logo is a more streamlined version of the iconic original and is the first touch-up it has received since its debut in 1999.

The search giant is also rolling out some changes to its search pages, adding a “larger search box and navigational tools that will automatically customize to fit the search subject.” Says a company spokesman of the new logo:“The refined logo exemplifies our thinking and our design process. We took the very best qualities — personality and playfulness — and distilled them into brighter colors, simpler shapes and softer gradients.”
