Giants Win Superbowl

In case you didn’t hear the roar last night, the Giants won the Super Bowl, beating the Patriots 21-17. And the headline on the front page of the Boston Globe is a somber one: “History Repeats.” Sports columnist Dan Shaughnessy says it was “excruciating” to see his team lose to New York and asks whether the game was “some sort of cosmic payback for what the Red Sox did to the Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series?”

In the New York Daily News, columnist Mike Lupica has a new name for the Giants’ MVP: Eli Super Cool. He quotes owner John Mara saying, “maybe there is something in his DNA, because the bigger the pressure, the cooler he is.”
