Gatorade Bullies Tap Water in New Ads

I understand the war on salt and on trans fats but really, what has tap water ever done to anyone? Apparently, it has “no game.” That’s according to a new series of trash-talking print ads from Gatorade says the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The sports drink has put tap water in its sights after a sales decline in 2009. Company officials believe regular old water is a bigger threat to their market share than comparable sports drinks like Powerade or Vitaminwater.
This TV ad takes a more subtle dig than the prints that appeared in ESPN: The Magazine and US Weekly:
