Gabby Douglas Grabs Historic Gold
Written by Pat's Papers | Friday, 3 August 2012 8:03 AM

Gabby Douglas is big news in all the papers this morning. The 16-year-old gymnast made history yesterday when she became the first African-American to the all-around Olympic gold in gymnastics. USA Today says Douglas was overwhelmed yesterday by her accomplishment, telling a reporter: “Someone mentioned that I was the first black American (to win the all-around gold), and I said, ‘Oh yeah, I forgot about that!’ I feel so honored.”
