“Fireball” Lights Up Midwestern Skies

Goodness, gracious great balls of fire! A huge “fireball” lit up skies all across the Midwest last night says the Chicago Tribune. Experts believe what people from Minnesota to Michigan reported seeing was actually a giant meteor. Witnesses say a “prolonged sonic boom” accompanied the meteor, which shook some homes and trees. A meteor shower called the Gamma Virginids began on April 4 and was predicted to peak either Wednesday or today.
