‘Elvis Index’ Predicts Upswing in Economy

Elvis is back in the building says the Louisville Courier-Journal and that’s a good sign for the economy. Businesses that cater to the Elvis-impersonating crowd say they’ve seen an uptick in sales recently and believe that the King is proving to be a good dipstick for the nation’s financial recovery. Economists say the “Elvis Index” mirrors the predictions of more common economic indicators, which show evidence that discretionary spending is increasing.
