Egg Recall Grows to 380 Million

There’s a massive recall on salmonella-tainted eggs going on. After hundreds of reports of food sickness from around the country, 380 million eggs, or 31.6 million dozen, are being recalled. The Oregonian says it’s been very difficult for public health officials to pinpoint the source of the problem because symptoms take several days to appear. The problem seems to start in a chicken’s ovaries and then is passed on to the egg.

The affected eggs have been distributed under several brands but they all come from one source: Wright County Egg. The company says to avoid eggs were packed in cartons containing six, 12 or 18 eggs, with plant numbers P-1026, P-1413 and P-1946.
