Earth Day: How Much Green Will You Pay to be Green?

America’s eco-consciousness only goes so far, reports the New York Times. After a promising star, mainstream lines of “green” products are struggling. The Clorox Green Works brand slumped as the recession hit in 2008 and it hasn’t bounced back. One analyst tells the Times that shoppers are, in theory, interested in environmentally-friendly products. But he says “If it’s one or two pennies higher in price, they’re not going to buy it.”
