The Best Dinner Party Ever

Written by Pat's Papers | Tuesday, 31 August 2010 6:18 AM

It’s like “the most bizarre and yet entertaining kind of dinner party” says the LA Times of the newly announced “Dancing With the Stars” lineup. Every corner of the American cultural landscape is represented. From reality stars (Mike “the Situation” Sorrentino) to classic TV names (Florence Henderson), NBA greats (Rick Fox) and political offspring (Bristol Palin), there is literally someone to pique everyone’s interest. The paper calls the lineup a coup for the show’s casting director Deena Katz. She says unlike years past when it was necessary to convince stars to sign on, more and more celebrities approach her about being on the show: “Calling people before we were on the air in Season 1 and saying, ‘We’re going to do a live ballroom dance show with celebrities,’ you could hear the clicks of the phone.”

The full lineup, a la the LA Times, is below:

MEN:

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Michael Bolton, Kyle Massey (“Cory in the House”), retired NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, Rick Fox and David Hasselhoff

WOMEN:

Jennifer Grey (yes, Baby from “Dirty Dancing”), singer Brandy, “Brady Bunch” mom Florence Henderson, Audrina Patridge (“The Hills”), comedian Margaret Cho and Bristol Palin.
