Congress Considers Repeal of Internet Gaming Law

Gambling websites are the destination for those looking to make a quick buck and the New York Times says the US government is the latest to consider placing a wager. Just four years after it banned Internet gambling, Congress is considering a reverse course as they look for new avenues in which to make money. The new bill would put the websites under direct control of the Treasury Department and all winnings would be taxed by the IRS. As one California Democrat explained his change of opinion on the issue: “We will not pass an Internet gaming bill. We will pass a bill to do something very important, funded by Internet gaming.”
