College Freshmen Don’t Use Cursive, Wristwatches

Cursive—what’s that? And who needs a wristwatch when you have a cell phone? The annual Beloit College Mindset List is out says the La Cross Tribune. Complied by two Wisconsin college professors, the list is reminder to teachers (and anyone of a certain age) that times—and cultural references—have changed. To the Class of 2014, for example, Clint Eastwood is known as a sensitive director and not by his “Dirty Harry” persona. The list’s creators say it’s fun to note the cultural shift—until you start feeling really old.
