A group of Chicago researchers this week unveiled a new prototype for a bionic leg controlled by the user’s mind. It’s part of a shift in prosthetic technology aimed at younger, more active patients. The leg works by using recorded nerve signals that are fed into the leg’s control center. Researchers say it could transform the lives of wounded veterans, accident victims and the elderly.
