Bill O’Reilly Causes Whoopi, Joy to Walk Off “View” Set

Bill O’Reilly has made a career out of pushing people’s buttons. And he showed off his skills yesterday as a guest on “The View.” While discussing the plans to build a mosque near Ground Zero, the New York Post says O’Reilly made Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg so angry, they left the set mid-show.

The walk-off followed a heated exchange in which O’Reilly said the mosque was “inappropriate” because “Muslims killed us on 9/11.” Goldberg let an expletive slip before correcting him, saying it’s wrong to blame a whole religion for acts perpetrated by extremists.

Barbara Walters was not shy about criticizing her employees for their walk-out. She told the stunned audience: “You have just seen what should not happen. We should be able to have discussions without washing our hands and screaming and walking offstage. I love my colleagues. It should not have happened.”
