Bakery Burned By Refusal to Make Rainbow Cookies

It just takes a little logical inversion to figure out that not following the rainbow would lead to financial woes. The Indianapolis Star says a local bakery could have its license yanked after refusing to make rainbow-colored cookies for “National Coming Out” Day. According to an ongoing investigation, the shop, which has been open for two decades, “cited moral objections to homosexuality” when asked to make the cookies by a customer.

Local commentators say the case is shaking out to be an interesting study about “the rights and moral beliefs of a business owner” and “the obligation of the city to do all it can to prevent discrimination and encourage tolerance.”

This isn’t the only controversy percolating within Indiana’s gay community. Last week we told you about non-profit for gay teens who is suing the DMV after being refused the right to make a specialty license plate.
