Arizona to Appeal Judge’s Immigration Law Injunction
Written by Pat's Papers | Thursday, 29 July 2010 7:10 AM

The governor of Arizona has filed an appeal against a federal court’s ruling yesterday that blocked key parts of the state’s controversial immigration law from going into effect. The judge in the case said that “the United States is likely to suffer irreparable harm” if she didn’t not block the legislation. After the ruling, the Arizona Republic says there was a frenzy to explain what can and cannot be enforced when the law went into effect today. The federal injunction is meant as a stopgap measure while the law is reviewed more thoroughly; it has been widely interpreted as a victory for the Obama administration.
