Apology Letter Leads to Conviction


Note to any would-be criminals: wait until you’re convicted before sending out a mea culpa. The Virginian-Pilot says prosecutors couldn’t believe their luck when a man they were charging with sexual assault wrote a letter to his victim and apologized. And as a bonus, he included several fingerprints for them to lift. The letter, sent from prison, was a plea to get the woman to drop the charges.
