Aging Motorcycle Fans Trade Bikes for Trikes

Written by Pat's Papers | Friday, 14 September 2012 8:21 AM

Great headline in the New York Times this morning: “Born to Be Wild, Aging Bikers Settle for Comfy.” Aches and pains have led aging motorcycle enthusiasts to swap in their hogs for trikes. The three-wheel bikes are more stable than traditional motorcycles—“equal parts ‘Easy Rider’ and easy chair”—and apparently safer. I love this quote from 74-year-old Grady Howard: “I told my wife it was either trike it or park it, and she said, ‘Trike it.’ ”
