After 35 Years, Nyad Complete Historic Swim

The big photo on the front page of the Miami Herald is of Diana Nyad after completing her historic swim from Cuba to Key West. Honestly, after all of the times we covered her NOT making it, I wasn’t paying a lot of attention until she actually got close to the end.  And it’s a nice story of serious determination and triumph.  The 110-mile swim took 52 hours, 54 minutes and 18.6 seconds to complete and left 64-year-old Nyad bruised and swollen.
