An interesting take on Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in the Washington Post this morning. The paper says they are mismatched in terms of style. Romney is always bottoned up. Ryan is “rumpled.” The story says he looked like he had to borrow someone’s suit.

Occidental: Hollywood’s Favorite College

Occidental College is famous for being President Obama’s alma mater…but that’s not its only claim to fame. The LA Times says because of its proximity to Hollywood and “aggressive courting of the film industry,” the school’s campus is a favorite for casting directors. In the last year 16 productions were filmed on Occidental’s grounds—from Doritos commercials to the latest season of “Arrested Development.”

Apple Software Used to Catch Jobs House Burglar

A California man thought he’d hit the jackpot when he saw a Palo Alto home being renovated. He jumped the fence and let himself in with a key. It was only then that he discovered whose house he was burglarizing: the late Steve Jobs. The San Jose Mercury News says police were able to track down the suspect using anti-theft software on some of the many Apple products that were boosted. Also taken: Jobs’ wallet, drivers license…and the kitchen blender.

Remember when Sony was responsbile for the coolest innovations in consumer electronics? Not the case any more . It lost money in the last quarter. So did Panasonic and Sharp. Commenting on how Japan lost its “electronics crown,” the president of Panasonic tells the Wall Street Journal: “Japanese firms were too confident about our technology and manufacturing prowess. We lost sight of the products from the consumer’s point of view.”

Chad Ochocinco and his wife are getting a divorce. They lasted 41 days—less than even Kim Kardashian. The news comes a day after word from VH1 that it’s pulling the plug on the couple’s reality show “Ev and Ocho” due to allegations that Ochocinco head-butted his new bride during a fight.

State Fair Advice: Don’t Pet the Pigs

Attention fair-goers: don’t pet the pigs. A new study from researchers at the University of Minnesota has found that even healthy-looking pigs can be sick with swine flu. The Minneapolis Star Tribune says the warning comes on the heels of 150 new cases of swine flu, linked to contact with pigs at state fairs around the country.
