NY1 Team as The Addams Family

I hosted NY1’s coverage of New York’s Village Halloween Parade. Our costumes came to us through a partnership with the Broadway production of The Addams Family.

I’d say it was more “fun” than “kooky” or “creepy,” but we had a great time with the hair, makeup and wardrobe team from show. My NY1 partners in costume were Roger Clark and Tara Lynn Wagner, who were transformed into Uncle Fester and Wednesday Adams. I became Gomez, complete with black hair dye which I was assured is temporary. We were joined on the telecast by New York actress and comedian Jackie Hoffman, who plays Grandma Addams. Comedian Colin Quinn also stopped by for a while and didn’t want to leave because we had the best seats in the house.

We got great feedback on the costumes, and except for the cold wind had tremendous fun doing the parade.

My favorite costumes were the ones tied into recent events in the news. We saw several Chilean miners, and one group assembled all 33 miners and a rescue capsule. And the bedbugs in a mattress were excellent.

And here’s the video of Nathan Lane (Gomez) and the other characters we were playing:
