Spectacular Northern Lights Move South (VIDEO)

The Northern Lights are so intense this fall that they have been visible in northern US states. Normally we Canadians have an exclusive on this. The Wall Street Journal says “as the Sun nears the height of its 11-year cycle, the eerie northern lights caused by charged solar particles spewing across space are becoming more intense, stretching as far south this week as Michigan.” Whatever the reason, the Journal has some spectacular photos. The amazing shot above is from my former colleague John Phillips, near Edmonton.
And below is one from another friend, Al Girard, who was shooting near Morinville, Alberta.
