I felt removed from Canada yesterday as I watched coverage of the shooting in Ottawa. But Canadians bond over hockey. And this helped.
The Edmonton Oilers hosted Canada’s only NHL game on the night of the shooting at Canada’s Parliament. So the normally routine singing of the national anthem took on special significance. And singer Samantha King delivered. The video from Sportsnet is below.
