Chicago’s Blizzard, Edited to 25 Seconds

We all saw those crazy photos of Lake Shore Drive strewn with abandoned cars in the wake of Chicago’s massive blizzard earlier this week. But this great time-lapsed video, shot from a suburban front yard, shows how quickly the snow piled up. The video’s director told the Tribune’s local edition that he set-up a hand-held camera in his kitchen to take a two-second video every five minutes. It’s pretty amazing to watch whatever that is in the foreground—a trashcan—get completely covered. Check it out:
